    Carnotzet/Family Room

Carnotzet is a Swiss word referring to a cozy, interior room with a fire and often, raclette or fondue is served. At Someday Farm this room serves large groups for seated meals and is one of the most striking in the entire project:

    • Tulikivi fireplace in soapstone that runs through all three floors in the heart of the home. This gentle wood heat only needs to be fed twice per twenty four hours. It also features a pizza/wood-firec oven for those who love baking.
    • Breathtaking custom circular staircase connecting the guest rooms, home office/bedroom, and family room to the main entry.
    • Handmade “cobble-oak” flooring similar to that seen in European outbuildings. Each square was painstakingly crafted and stained by hand from oak cut in the Graves Mill valley. The floor is dry-laid and very easy maintenance and makes a striking complement to the custom circular staircase.
